Kim is passionate about teaching her students to strengthen their bodies from the inside out. She was introduced to the Pilates method when she was an aspiring ballet dancer. Kim studied and performed with the Goleta Civic Ballet, Houston Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, UCLA, Allan Hancock College and the Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera. After years of teaching dance and fitness to hundreds of children and adults, Kim earned her Pilates teaching certification from Infinite Dynamics in San Luis Obispo California. In 2000, Kim opened Inner Strength Pilates and Gyrotonic Studio in Los Olivos, California. She ran a home Pilates studio in Cedar City, Utah. After relocating to Saint Paul, Minnesota, she founded New Movement. A proponent of holistic healing, she believes in the benefits of Pilates, Yoga, Gyrotonic, Restorative Exercise TM, massage therapy, acupuncture, midwifery, and homeopathy. Kim enjoys blending many movement education modalities in order to incorporate breath and movement to strengthen the mind and body and improve overall health. Kim is a teacher at Studio 7 Kansas City and Club Pilates Lenexa and Overland Park. She has a wander lust and is using the benefits of her movement practice to travel the world and ski faster. Pilates, primitive and functional movement, and neuroplasticity are the keys to Kim's quest to actively age and navigate life during perimenopause and auto immune disease.
